Good afternoon Cougars!

It is Goal Setting Conference week. We have minimum days all week. If you have not scheduled a conference with your child’s teacher, it’s not too late. Reach out to the teacher or call the office to get one scheduled.

The ROAR Store is closed this week due to the Book Fair in the library.

After your Goal Setting Conference, don’t forget to stop by the library and visit the Scholastic Book Fair. The book fair will be open from 12:00-2:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 12:00-1:30 pm on Friday.

Basketball practice will be held on Mondays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm and Wednesdays from 5:00 – 6:00 pm for both boys and girls. There are no games this week.

On September 11th, our Cougars will participate in our Troop Packing event. We will be working alongside the USMC CPL Charles O Palmer II Memorial Troop Support Program to pack boxes to send to active military. We need donations of small items to pack in the boxes. Please check your email for a list of suggested donations.

As a reminder, glass bottles are not allowed on campus.

Have a great week Cougars!

Good afternoon Cougars!

Thursdays are college days at Joshua Cowell! You’ll see our staff wearing shirts from a college or university and we invite your child to do the same. Fridays are spirit days and we wear your Cougar gear. If you need to purchase Spirit Wear, the Cougar Community Club has a limited amount for sale.

Next Monday your child will begin taking the Fall Measures of Academic Progress or MAP assessment. The MAP measures achievement and growth over time. Your child will take the MAP once in the Fall, once in Winter and once in Spring. Your child’s scores will be discussed with you at Goal Setting Conferences in September. They will take this on their device so please make sure to charge it every night.

On Thursday, August 22nd we will host a Parent Involvement Opportunity presentation at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. Come learn all the different ways you can be involved in your child’s education.

Have a great week Cougars!

Good afternoon Cougars!

We kindly ask that you help us limit interruptions to your child’s learning by making sure they have everything they need for the day including their water bottle, lunch, school appropriate shoes, and glasses before they leave the house. When items are dropped off during the day, learning can be interrupted when we have to call the classroom for your child to come to the office to pick up their things.

Remember there is no parking in red zones. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in our pickup lines.

If you haven’t done so already, please complete the First Day Packet/Online Re-Enrollment on QParentConnect.

Join our Cougar Community Club for their first meeting of the school year tomorrow at 2:15 pm afterschool.

Have a great week, Cougars!
